History

Driven by our passion and the experience gained by our team during the Hydrocontest competition, our team changes dimension with the presentation of this project. Swiss Solar Boat’s ambition is to design and build a solar-powered, pilot-driven boat to participate in the international competition  Monaco Solar & Energy Boat Challenge 2022.

2014

First participation in a competition

  • First participation in the Hydrocontest competition
  • 2nd in mass transport with our boat “SWASH
  • Semi-final in personal watercraft with our innovative bifoiler

2015

First victory

  • Consecration for the team that reaches the top step of the podium in the mass transport category

2016

Second bifoiler design

  • 2nd place in long distance race
  • Design award for the bifoiler
  • Eco-conception award

2017

Confirmation

  • Another victory in the mass transport category

2018

Victory for innovation

  • Innovation award for our boat called “NES”
  • 2nd place in personal watercraft

2018

Launch of Swiss Solar Boat

  • Start of the transition from Hydrocontest.
  • First design iteration of the Prao by Fabio Circelli and Pierre-Alexandre Boschert.

2019

Farewell Hydrocontest

  • Participation in the Foiling week at Lake Garda and first appearance of our “Prao”
  • Participation in the last edition of Hydrocontest
  • 1st prize in speed racing
  • 1st prize in energy efficiency
  • 2nd place in endurance race
  • 3rd place in mass transport
  • Scale model used to develop the design and controls of the Prao
